Clairault | Streicker Wines is a family of premium wines, crafted from grapes harvested from our privately owned vineyards in the Margaret River Wine Appellation of Western Australia. Since 1976 we have grown from a modest planting of just 4 hectares of vines to over 300 hectares of premium vineyards. Our continuous commitment to quality vineyard management and sound
ecological practices, combined with our unparalleled geographic advantages have led to a catalog of wines that are exceptional.
From Clairault’s pristine undulating property with bountiful creek-lines, natural springs and some of the oldest native forests in the southwest, to Streicker Wines’ deeply-rooted old vines, ample dams and exceptional soil quality, our properties are truly unique in their quality. Our vineyards’ history, pedigree and forward-thinking approach have established Clairault | Streicker Wines’ reputation as a leader in Margaret River.
The Margaret River Wine Region and its maritime climate is a ‘Winemaking Paradise’. – Luke Watts, Operations Manager
The warm dry summers and cool wet winters allow vines to prosper in relatively low disease pressure conditions. The ideal scenario is for plentiful winter rains to leave the soils with good levels of stored moisture which can then be drawn on as required by the actively growing vines. The occasional summer rains wash dust from the leaves and top up the soil profile. – Chris Gillmore, Senior Vineyard Manager
Viticulture was established in the 1970s by Dr John Gladstones. This makes it unique in the world of winegrowing as the foundation is built upon science, not tradition. The area stretches 100km north-to-south and is 27km wide. It was selected for vineyards due to its isolated location, strong maritime climate and soil structure (gravelly sandy loam over granite and gneissic
rock). There are currently around 150 wineries in the region contributing just 3% of the nation’s wine grapes, but over 20% of
the premium wine market. Winemaking success comes predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, but also from Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blends and Shiraz. -Margaret River Wine Association website
